Making it a Reality
Mrs. Yvette Alofa, married with children, sells cloths, cereal, and maize. Her business was developing, but, three years ago, her activities had gone into bankruptcy because of motherhood and sickness. She was living in miserable conditions and was not able to take care of her children.
When she heard MEDIC Benin, she entered in AD Womey trust bank and followed all the training. At the end of these trainings, she received her first loan of 40.000 F CFA ($88.89 USD) and a second loan of 80.000 F CFA ($177.78 USD) that helped her to start again to develop her business. Now she sells more textiles at Cocotomey market six times per month (the market day) and sells cereals and maize at home and from door to door the other days of the month.
She repaid the loan correctly and was able with the income to help her husband and provide for the needs of her family.
She is very happy with this support of MEDIC Benin and she projects to apply, after the repayment of the third loan of 100.000 F CFA, a more important loan to satisfy correctly the demand of her customers and also have more income to provide to the needs of her family.
