Benin is a small country in West African country with a population of roughly 10 million people. Almost 40 percent of its population lives below the poverty line. Benin’s economy relies mostly on the cotton trade, and agriculture is the main source of income for 70 percent of the country’s workforce.

Active in Benin since 2007 our microfinance program has improved the condition of lives for many families. This program has affected many people in rural and urban localities where the recipients of loans are able to take care of their families with food, clothing, healthcare and schooling. Depending on the success of their business some are able to buy land, build a small house to live in or to open shops for their business and employ people in their community.

Over the years, MEDIC MIVE-FINANCE has been primarily involved in loans to individual members of  a trust bank in hundreds of communities. Other benefactors are the Farmer Cooperative Loans, Village Pharmacy Loan, Scholarship program and Private School Loans. These  have all been key components of sustainable economic growth in the rural areas.

We would like to thank our MEDIC Supporting Affiliates and all the donors for their financial assistance for helping us End Poverty one life at a time.
