Benin is a small country in West African country with a population of roughly 10 million people. Almost 40 percent of its population lives below the poverty line. Benin’s economy relies mostly on the cotton trade, and agriculture is the main source of income for 70 percent of the country’s workforce.
Active in Benin since 2007 our microfinance program has improved the condition of lives for many families. This program has affected many people in rural and urban localities where the recipients of loans are able to take care of their families (food, clothes, health care,), send their children to school , and to buy land and/or build a small house to live in or for their business to offer jobs in their communities
Approximately 1200 children have benefited from private school loans which have been granted. By promoting the Farmer Cooperative Loans, Village Pharmacy Loan, Trust Bank Loans, Micro Business Women and Men programs have been key components of sustainable economic growth in the rural areas.
